Principal’s Message

Dear Creekside Middle School Families,

Welcome to the 2023-2024 School Year! Our staff is looking forward to meeting our new students and to reconnecting with our returning students. There has never been a more important time for learning as our students, families, and staff members successfully navigated through the challenges that the global pandemic presented in the last few years. It is a privilege to be a part of the Creekside community where every member collaborates to build a culture of academic excellence, equity, and responsibility for all.

I encourage you to participate in your child’s learning and experience throughout this school year. Your involvement greatly contributes to the success of your child and our staff is committed to forming a strong partnership with you. Our priority remains on the safety and wellness of our students as well as supporting them to learn, grow, and achieve their best.

Our first day of school is Wednesday, August 9th with the regular start time of 8:30am (zero period starts at 7:30) and an early dismissal of 12:30pm. Beginning with Wednesday, August 16th, school starts at 9:30am and ends at 2:55pm on every Wednesday, in order to facilitate teacher collaboration. For Thursday and Friday, August 10th and 11th, school will start at 8:30am and end at 2:55pm.

There are important events happening in August. Our Annual Registration Walk-Through will be on August 2nd and 3rd. For our 6th graders, we will be having the 6th grade Tour on August 2nd at 2pm. In addition, Picture Day for our students will be on August 10th. Please see the details in this newsletter for more information on these upcoming events.

If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to contact our office at (510) 247-0665 or email me at [email protected]. I truly believe that Creekside is an outstanding place of learning because of our dedicated and talented students, staff, and families. Thank you for your support and partnership!

Respectfully yours,

Susan Shih
