Welcome to Creekside Middle School

Cultivating academic excellence, equity, and responsibility.

The moment you step onto our campus, it is clear that student learning is our number one priority. Throughout the day students are involved in project-based learning, establishing lifelong health and fitness habits, learning to be good citizens, and developing a well-rounded, strong academic foundation. Every day our students are challenged with rigorous academic programs and high expectations. Our school community provides support for each student to be successful. Learning for our students is a sharing, laughing, risking, and questioning experience. We all believe each child should be prepared with skills, knowledge, and confidence for the demands of the 21st century.

Congratulations to Fanny Machado

Sixth grade teacher Fanny Machado has been named the Castro Valley 2013-14 Masonic Teacher of the Year for secondary schools.  Ms. Machado is a dedicated and compassionate teacher with a strong interest in developing not only college and career ready students but in ensuring each student is a citizen of the world as well.  As Athletic Director, she works hard to ensure that all athletes are students first.  She wants every child int he athletics program to be a well rounded individual.  Congratulations to this excellent Creekside Middle School and Castro Valley Unified School District representative.

Open House Date

We have had a scheduling conflict with the Open House and will need to move the date. We will now host our Open House on Wednesday, April 30, from 6:30-8:00PM.  I'm so sorry for any inconvenience this change may cause.  Please join us on April 30th as we highlight all of the wonderful projects and work students have been accomplishing this year!

Book Fair Dates

Traditionally we have hosted the book fair the same week of the Open House.  In order to keep with this tradition, we will be changing the dates of our book fair.  The new dates of the book fair will be April 28-May 2.  The Book Fair will also be open during the Open House on April 30.

On Friday, March 7th, students are not in school as we will be having a Staff Development Day.

Daylight savings time starts this weekend.  Remember to set your clocks forward one hour.

There will be a PTC meeting next week on Tuesday, March 11, from 7:00 to 8:00 pm in the library. Former Creekside student from CVHS will return to Creekside to discuss their transition to high school.

I’d also like to invite you to a very important meeting on Wednesday, March 12th, from 6:30 to 8:00 in the Creekside Library.  As you may already know, California is under a different funding model for all districts.  As part of this change, all districts are required to develop a Local Control Accountability Plan.  A very important part of the plan requires that all schools include school community input.  This is a great opportunity to give input on our school site and to the district.  Please consider assisting us with this very important task.  Again, this meeting will be held March 12th from 7:30 to 8:00pm.  I hope to see you there.
