Creekside recognizes outstanding achievement with the following programs and awards:
Awards and Recognition
Assistant Principal’s Award
In order to promote effort, behavior, and citizenship that exemplifies our ROAR expectations (Respect, Ownership, Acceptance, Responsibility), the Assistant Principal’s Award is given out each Friday on Video Journalism. We recognize a student who has exhibited these traits or who has shown a vast improvement in his/her behavior for an extended period of time. This can be someone that a teacher or staff member nominates or it can be someone that the Administration wishes to recognize. The student’s picture is taken and placed on the wall in the Counseling Office and the student also receives a certificate to bring home. Students will be honored each month in the newsletter.
For each grade level, this award recognizes academic achievement cumulative GPA for each year.
8th graders are recognized at the promotion ceremony.
Since grades for 6th and 7th graders are not posted until after the last day of school, students will be recognized in the fall of the next school year.
3.0 – 3.49 GPA
This award recognizes academic achievement for 8th grade students who have earned a cumulative 4.0 GPA (six semesters). Awards are given at the Promotion Ceremony.
Renaissance is a national education-focused program created to recognize and reward academic achievement, attendance, and good citizenship.
Creekside students who qualify each quarter receive a Renaissance sticker, which goes on their Creekside I.D. card.
There are three levels of qualification for the Creekside Renaissance Program:
Gold Level/Sticker 3.5-4.0 quarter GPA
Silver Level/Sticker 3.0 - 3.49 quarter GPA
White Level/Sticker 0.5 GPA improvement over the previous quarter
In addition, students must not have any of the following:
- School suspension
- SART or SARB Attendance Contract
All staff members are responsible for recognizing students who follow our ROAR school-wide expectations (Respect, Ownership, Acceptance, and Responsibility). Students who ROAR on campus will receive a ROAR Card acknowledging their positive behavior. Students can use these cards to obtain items at our ROAR Student Store.
Student of the Quarter
Every quarter, all staff members can nominate students to be the Student of the Quarter. The criteria include students with excellent citizenship, excellent grades, or significant improvement. The students will be presented with a certificate and a bumper sticker by the counselors.
